ERA ELECTION CAMPAIGNS
The English Radical Alliance aims to contest elections where we have an active presence.
There are two types of candidates we wish to field - these being 'Official' party candidates and 'Paper' candidates.
To be an 'Official' candidate is to take the election seriously and aim to achieve the highest vote possible. Official candidates in nearly all circumstances have to be Full members of the party and will receive training so they are prepared to represent the party, and if elected, the people.
'Paper' candidates simply stand to enable the party name to appear on the ballot paper. To become a 'Paper' candidate involves no leafletting or canvassing, and such candidates have practically no chance at all of being elected. All members can stand as Paper candidates, there is hardly any effort involved, yet in just putting their name forward they are helping to establish the party at the ballot box and encouraging others to come forward.
